# How to find a location to tag by ID

|| Meta API may not always return the desired location, especially if there's no Facebook Page associated with the location, i.e. cities and countries

Here's how you can work around this API limitation.

* Search for the location to tag in [Facebook Places](https://www.facebook.com/places/) on desktop ( **important**)

|| Note: When tagging a location by ID, make sure to use **Facebook Places**, not **Instagram Locations**.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/eefbebed3e091800/screenshot-2024-08-30-at-13165_m77xko.png)

* **Go to** the Location page and **copy** the ID from the URL

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/eefbebed3e091800/screenshot-2024-09-04-at-09093_rtjmjj.png)

* **Paste** the Location ID from the URL in Publer

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/eefbebed3e091800/screen-shot-2024-12-30-at-1500_1d4ygex.png)

* Make sure to **select** the search result and click on **save**

|| If no search result is returned, it means that particular location ID cannot be tagged via the Meta API

|| The Facebook Location ID should also work for Instagram since they share the same API, but if for some reason causes posting errors, we will be remove the location
