# How to manage posting access for a member

Specifying **posting and approval permissions** helps keep your team's workflow organized and ensures that posts are reviewed by the right people before they are published. In Publer, these permissions can be configured for each team member and assigned social account, allowing you to control who can schedule posts directly and which posts require approval.

### How posting and approval permissions work:

Posting and approval permissions determine whether a member can schedule a post directly or whether the post must go through an approval process first.

* **Posts that don't require approval** can be scheduled directly and will follow the selected publishing schedule.
* **Posts that require approval** will remain pending until all required approvals are completed.
* Approval requirements can apply to posts created by **Editors, Admins, or the Owner**, depending on the permissions configured for the assigned social account.
* Posts can require approval from an **Admin/Owner, a Client, or both**, depending on how the approval workflow is configured.

|| Note: Posting and approval permissions are configured **per member and per assigned social account**. This means that a member may have different posting or approval permissions for different social accounts.

### The three post approval access levels:

Publer offers three different post approval access levels:

* **Should be approved by Admin/Owner:** Posts created by an **Editor** must be approved by an **Admin or Owner** before they can be published.
* **Should be approved by Client:** Posts created by an **Editor**, **Admin**, or even the workspace **Owner** must be approved by the **Client** before they can be published.
* **Full Posting Access:** An **Admin** can create and schedule posts directly without requiring approval from the Client.

### When a post requires approval:

1. The post appears under **Posts > Scheduled > Pending Approval**.
2. The appropriate Admin, Owner, or Client will be able to review the post, depending on the approval settings configured for that social account.
3. The post must receive all required approvals before it can be scheduled and published.
4. If the required approval is not completed before the scheduled time, the post will be marked as **Failed** and moved to **Posts > Failed**.
