# How to connect Bluesky accounts

### DesktopStart

||| **Important:** At the moment, only Bluesky accounts hosted directly on Bluesky (e.g. username.bsky.social) can be connected to Publer.  Accounts hosted on a custom PDS (Personal Data Server) are not supported yet.

### To connect your **Bluesky** account with Publer:

* Select the **Social Accounts** tab on the left of the dashboard and click **Connect** for Bluesky.

* Select **Bluesky**.

* Enter your **username** (e.g. username.bsky.social) and click on **Generate app password in Bluesky**.

||| Do not include the **@** when typing the username.

* You will be redirected to Bluesky and click on **Add App Password**.

||| If you are logged out of your Bluesky account, you will have to log in to the correct account to generate the code.

* In the pop-up modal, name the app password or use the suggested one and click **Create App Password.**

* Bluesky will generate a **code** that you can copy and paste into Publer.

||| Important: For security reasons, the code is displayed only once. If you miss it, you will need to delete the app password and create a new one.

* Finally, after adding the code to Publer, click on **Add**.

### To connect Bluesky in the mobile app:

* Log in to the app and navigate to the **account menu** from the upper left icon.
* Tap on **Add new social accounts**.

* Tap on the Bluesky icon.
