# How to connect the Threads app to Publer

### Threads

[Threads](https://publer.io/blog/post-directly-to-threads/) is an online social media and social networking service operated by Meta, the mother company of Instagram and Facebook. 

The Threads app looks a lot like Twitter/X, with a feed that is only dedicated to text-based posts. However, you can also post photos and videos while having conversations in the form of threads, just like Twitter/X. 

You can log in and create an account in the Threads app, through your Instagram account. You can create threads with up to 25 posts, each containing up to 500 characters. The first post and follow-up comments in the thread can include a link, video (up to 5 minutes), or up to 10 photos.

Lastly, Publer now provides detailed post insights and analytics for the Threads App. Plus, you can read and respond to Threads comments directly through Publer.

### Connecting Threads App

* Go to [Publer](https://app.publer.io).
* Navigate to the [Social Accounts tab](https://app.publer.io/#/accounts), from the navigation bar in the left.
* Locate **Threads**, and click on **Connect**.

* Select the **Threads** option.

* Then, you'll be prompted to log in to the Instagram account linked to your Threads profile.

* Once you log in, you will be required to authorize Publer to access your account.
* Finally, make sure you connect the Account after you add it on Publer:

### Keep in mind:

* Posting via reminders for new connected accounts will no longer be available. All actions, including connecting, reconnecting, and posting will be done through the official API.
* Publer can now gather insights, [sync posts](https://help.publer.io/en/article/how-to-synchronize-all-posts-within-publer-x673pq/), [sync info](https://help.publer.io/en/article/how-to-sync-info-date-name-profile-picture-and-albumsboardscategories-and-how-to-edit-the-profile-picture-and-name-1m354ug/), and [sync insights](https://help.publer.io/en/article/how-to-sync-insightsanalytics-1p5fxm/) for Threads app.
* Your main post can include a link, video (up to 5 minutes), or up to 10 photos. **Follow-up comments in the thread can include photos and videos.**
* **GIFs** and **alt texts** are **not** supported.
* You can create up to 25 posts per thread, each with a maximum of 500 characters.
* You can now [Auto Share](https://help.publer.io/en/article/how-to-use-autosharing-in-publer-g2k1b4/), [Auto Delete](https://help.publer.io/en/article/how-to-auto-delete-posts-1t21ddd/), and [direct commenting](https://help.publer.io/en/article/how-to-manage-comments-of-published-posts-from-within-publer-ukrslk/) on posts from any connected account, except for private account posts which require commenting from the account itself.
* Some options, like adding a Location, aren't available due to API limitations.

* Go to **Accounts **and click on ** + Add new social accounts**

* Click on the **Threads** logo.

* Then, you'll be prompted to log in to the Instagram account linked to your Threads profile.
