# How to create and save a News Query


### DesktopStart

### To create a News Query:

* Go to the **Explore** tab.

* On the **News** tab, select **Advanced Search**.

* Click on the dropdown at the right-side and press **Add New Query**.

* A form will show up on the right-side, where you can search in detail about specific articles.

* Narrow down your search by choosing for:

1. **Keywords**
* Surround phrases with quotes (") for exact match.
* Prepend words or phrases that must appear with a + symbol. Eg: +socialmedia
* Prepend words that must not appear with a - symbol. Eg: -facebook
* Alternatively you can use the AND / OR / NOT keywords, and optionally group these with parenthesis. Eg: "social media" AND (Facebook OR Twitter) NOT Snapchat.

2. **Dates** of the articles.
3. The **Language** of the articles.
4. **Sort by** relevance, popularity, and date.
5. **Include** or **Exclude** specific domains.

* Once you have narrowed down your search, you can choose to **Save query** for the future.

* Give the Query a name and click on **Save**.

* Then, click on **Search**. The relevant results will appear like so:

### To create a News Query in the mobile app:

* Go to the **Explore** tab.
* On the **News** tab, select **Advanced Search**.

* Click on the **plus icon** at the right-side.

* A form will open, where you can *Create a New Query* and search in detail about specific articles.
