# How to edit a member's roles and permissions

### DesktopStart

### To edit a member's role and permissions:

* Go to [Publer](https://app.publer.io/#/) and [switch to the specific workspace.](/en/article/how-to-switch-between-workspaces-11a3w77/)
* Then navigate to the [Members](https://app.publer.io/#/members) tab from the navigation bar on the left.
* There, you will be able to see all the members of your workspace, and [invite new ones](/en/article/how-to-add-a-new-member-to-my-publer-workspace-cwyftu/) too.

* Find the member that you want to edit and at the right side click on the three dots.
* From there, you will be able to **Edit member**, **Edit social accounts**, copy their email address, or [**remove them from the workspace.**](/en/article/how-to-remove-a-member-from-my-publer-workspace-qm3k47/)

### Edit Member Role

This is where you will be able to choose or **edit the role** of the member, which can be **Admin**, **Editor**, or **Client**.

### Edit Member Accounts & Permissions

This is where you will be to [assign or remove social accounts](/en/article/how-to-assign-social-accounts-to-different-members-of-my-workspace-14o8w8h/) to the member, and edit their permissions for the assigned social accounts.

### When you edit a member, you can change:

* The social accounts that you want them [to have access to.](/en/article/how-to-assign-social-accounts-to-different-members-of-my-workspace-14o8w8h/) You can assign and remove accounts accordingly.
* The Posting Access for the specific social accounts. Learn more [here](/en/article/general-permission-levels-article-z84phh/).
* If they will post using the Owner's or Member's API credentials. Learn more [here](/en/article/owners-api-vs-members-api-credentials-eecrpd/).
* The settings for Two Factor Authentication. Keep in mind, **Owners** can make **2FA** required for all team members, while **Admins** can make it required for other Editors and Clients.

### How permissions affect grouped posts:

* Members can only view, edit, approve, or decline posts for the social accounts assigned to them.
* If a grouped post includes accounts the member cannot access, they can click **View each post** and manage only the posts for their assigned accounts.

* Any changes made to a member's assigned social accounts or permissions will also affect which posts they can manage within a grouped post.

### For Editors, you can also edit:

* The posting access, specifically whether you want the Editor's posts to be approved by an Admin/Owner or not, and if you want it to activate 2FA.

### For Admins, you can also edit:

* Whether you want to allow the Admin to **Add or remove social accounts**, and if you want it to activate 2FA.
* Keep in mind that the Posting Access for Admins will always be **Full posting access** on the assigned accounts. Learn more [here](/en/article/general-permission-levels-article-z84phh/).

### For Clients, you can also edit:

* If you want the Client to be able to add social accounts and to create, edit, or delete posts.
* If you want it to activate 2FA.
* If you want the Client to approve posts for a specific social account or not. If you choose this option, then all posts created by other members will have to be approved by the Client before they are scheduled.

### To edit a member's role and permissions in the Publer app:

* Firstly, go to **Workspace** tab and switch to **Members**.
* Tap on the 3 dots for the member you want to edit the role, permissions, and accounts for and tap on **Edit member**:

* You will have the option to chose between the roles of **Admin**, **Editor** and **Client**.
* Then, you can specify the different permissions for each role. Learn more about the different roles and permissions [here](/en/article/what-are-the-different-member-roles-and-permission-levels-ior42l/).

### For every member, you need to specify:

* The social accounts that you want them [to have access to.](/en/article/how-to-assign-social-accounts-to-different-members-of-my-workspace-14o8w8h/) You can assign and remove accounts accordingly.
* The settings for Two Factor Authentication. Keep in mind, **Owners** can make **2FA** required for all team members, while **Admins** can make it required for other Editors and Clients.

* Once you check all the permissions, click on the **Save** button.
