# How to set up Dub URL Shortener


# To set up Dub.co URL Shortener on Publer:

* Go to **Social Accounts** and **select** an account.
* Select **URL Settings** and click on **Dub**.

* Sign in to your [Dub.co](https://dub.co) account, and select a workspace to grant API access to.
* Once you’ve completed those steps, proceed to authorize Publer to access your account.

* Then, once **Dub** is connected, choose whether you want to:

1. Shorten any link. -- Publer will shorten all the links shared in the caption or comment of the post.
2. Shorten only link posts. -- Publer will only shorten the main link in the post.

|| Note: When you choose to **shorten only link posts** Publer will only shorten the main link in the post. For example, if you choose this option, create a video post, and add a link to the caption, that link won't be shortened. In this case, the link will be shortened only when the post is a link post (with a thumbnail).

* If you have a Dub.co paid subscription, you can also choose a **custom domain**. Otherwise, the default free option is dub.sh.

* Additionally, you can also set **default tags** for the shortened links.

|| Keep in mind, the link will only be shortened after the post is scheduled/published, so you cannot see the changes when you preview the post.
