# How to set up JotUrl URL Shortener


# To set up JotUrl URL Shortener on Publer:

* Go to **Social Accounts** and **select** an account.
* Select **URL Settings** and click on **JotUrl**:

* Add both public and private **API** keys. You can find them [here](https://joturl.com/reserved/settings.html#tools-api).
* Copy the **API** links on your **JotUrl** profile and paste it on Publer's dashboard.
* Click on **Connect**.

### Once **JotUrl** is connected to Publer:

* Choose whether you want to:

1. Shorten any link. -- Publer will shorten all the links shared in the caption or comment of the post.
2. Shorten only link posts. -- Publer will only shorten the main link in the post.

|| Note: When you choose to **shorten only link posts** Publer will only shorten the main link in the post. For example, if you choose this option, create a video post, and add a link to the caption, that link won't be shortened. In this case, the link will be shortened only when the post is a link post (with a thumbnail).

* Choose the domain you want to be used for the shortened links:

1. jo.my
2. t.jo.my

* You can always deactivate the JotUrl URL Shortener by clicking on **Disconnect**. For more information go [here](https://help.publer.io/en/article/how-to-disconnect-url-shorteners-26l5f0/).

|| Keep in mind, the link will only be shortened after the post is scheduled/published, so you cannot see the changes when you preview the post.
