# How to use the Hashtag Counter

Using the right number of hashtags can improve your post’s reach. Too few may limit visibility, while too many can exceed platform limits.

With Publer’s **Hashtag Counter**, you can easily keep track and stay within the recommended range.

### To use the Hashtag Counter:

* Open the **Create** tab and start a new post.
* Add your caption and include hashtags.
* The hashtag counter will update automatically as you type.

* **Example:** Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags per post. If you exceed this limit, your caption may be removed when publishing. This also includes hashtags added in follow-up comments.
* The counter will turn red once you go over the limit, helping you keep track.

* Adjust your hashtags to stay within the limit and schedule the post accordingly.
