Once connected, you can use ChatGPT to create and schedule posts, get content suggestions, and manage your social media directly from ChatGPT Web or the Codex CLI.

To connect ChatGPT with Publer:

• Go to Settings in Publer.
• Select AI & Automations.

• Under AI & MCP, click on ChatGPT.

You can connect Publer with either ChatGPT Web or the Codex CLI.

ChatGPT Web

To connect Publer with ChatGPT on the web:

• Select the ChatGPT Web tab.

• Under Get your API key, paste an existing Publer API key or click Create an API key.

• If you create a new API key, give it a name and choose the permissions you want to grant.
• Generate the API key and copy it. After that click Done and it will be pasted automatically.

Once the API key is added, continue with the setup instructions provided by Publer.

• Open ChatGPT and go to Settings. Alternatively you can click on ChatGPT settings.

• It will send you to the Security and login section.
• Under Advanced settings, enable Developer mode.

• You can now go back to Publer and Add new app.

• Fill in the required details using the information provided by Publer.
• Click Create to finish.

• Click on Connect to connect Publer to ChatGPT, then approve the requested access.

• Publer will now be connected to ChatGPT.
• You can find the plugin you created under Plugins. Click on it to open it.

• From there, click on Try in chat to start using Publer directly from ChatGPT.

• You can then enter a prompt describing what you want Publer to do. For example: "Check the statistics for my [social account] for this quarter."
• ChatGPT will use the Publer plugin to help complete the request.

• You can also give ChatGPT more detailed instructions. For example, you can say something like "Create a post about [topic] for my [social account]. Access my Publer Media Library and use a relevant image for the post."

Codex CLI

You can also connect Publer with the Codex CLI.

• Go to Settings > AI & Automations > ChatGPT in Publer.
• Select the Codex CLI tab.

• Paste an existing Publer API key or click Create an API key.

• If needed, install the Codex CLI.

• After entering your API key, Publer will provide the command required to add the Publer MCP server.
• Copy the command and run it in your terminal.

Once added, you can start using Codex with your Publer workspace.

What can you do with ChatGPT and Publer?

Once connected, you can manage your account directly from ChatGPT.

For example, you can ask ChatGPT to:

• Create posts, drafts, and content ideas, with text, images, videos, links, carousels, polls, Reels, Stories, and other supported post types.
• Schedule, AutoSchedule, publish, recycle, or set up recurring posts for one or multiple social accounts.
• Upload and use media from your Publer Media Library or files shared directly in ChatGPT.
• Add post options such as first comments, follow-up comments, AutoShare, watermarks, signatures, locations, labels, albums, and Pinterest boards.
• View and manage your connected social accounts, workspaces, scheduled posts, drafts, published posts, and media.
• Edit or delete supported posts and manage existing Publer content.
• Check analytics, analyze recent performance, and view competitor data where supported.
• Generate content ideas, captions, and publishing suggestions before creating or scheduling your posts.

For example:

Create a LinkedIn post about our latest product update, add this image, and save it as a draft in Publer.

Or:

Create 5 Instagram posts and AutoSchedule them for next week.

Or:

Show me my recent Facebook performance and suggest content ideas based on the results.

ChatGPT will use Publer's MCP tools to complete the request based on the permissions available to your account and the features supported by each social network.

Keep in mind

• ChatGPT can only perform actions supported by Publer's MCP.
• The same social network requirements and limitations that apply in Publer also apply when using ChatGPT.
• Keep your Publer API key secure.
• Always review the social account, content, and scheduling details before publishing important posts.
• You can manage or revoke your API keys at any time from Settings > API & Webhooks.
