Publer's MCP is now available on the Business and Enterprise plans. The MCP lets you connect Publer with MCP-compatible clients, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI tools, so they can help manage your workspace through a secure connection.

You can connect using OAuth, without an API key, or No auth, using your Publer API key. Choose the method supported by your AI client.

To set up Publer's MCP server:

• Click on your profile dropdown in the top-right corner and go to Settings.

• Click on AI & Automations.

• Under AI & MCP, click on MCP.

• A new window will open with the MCP setup steps.
• You will see two tabs: OAuth and No auth.

To connect using OAuth:

Use this method if your AI client supports OAuth. You will sign in with Publer and approve access without creating an API key.

• Select the OAuth tab.

• Copy the MCP server URL: https://mcp.publer.com.
• Paste it into your AI client's connector settings.
• Set the authentication type to OAuth.

• Connect the server, then sign in to Publer if prompted.
• Approve access to complete the connection.
• Once connected, you can start using your AI tool to manage supported content in Publer.

To connect using No auth:

Use this method if your AI client does not support OAuth. Your API key is included in the server URL or sent through an authorization header.

• Select the No auth tab.

• In the first step, add your API key.

• If you do not have one yet, click Create an API key.

• Add a name for your API key, so you can easily recognize it later.
• Workspaces and Accounts are required by default.
• Select any additional scopes you want to allow for the API key, such as Posts, Media, or Analytics.
• Click Generate API Key.

• Copy the generated API key and save it securely.
• Check the confirmation box that says you have copied and saved the API key.

• Click Done.
• After adding the API key, Publer will generate your MCP server URL.
• Copy the MCP server URL and paste it into your AI client’s connector settings.

• You can also authenticate with the API key by using the authorization header shown in Publer.

• Once everything is copied into your MCP-compatible client, save the connection.
• You can now use MCP to connect your AI tool with Publer.

Some example prompts:

List all my connected Publer social accounts.
List all my Publer workspaces.
Show me all my draft posts in Publer so I can review what is pending.
Create a draft post for Instagram and Facebook that says: “Excited to share our latest update!”
Schedule a post for next Monday at 10 AM for my LinkedIn Page.

Keep in mind:

• MCP is available on the Business and Enterprise plans.
• OAuth does not require an API key. You connect by signing in to Publer and approving access.
• When using No auth, make sure to save your API key somewhere secure, as you may not be able to view it again later.
• Do not share your API key or an MCP server URL containing your API key publicly.
• When using an API key, the permissions available through MCP depend on the scopes selected when creating it.
• If your API key connection does not work, you can remove the API key and create a new one from Settings > AI & Automations > MCP.
