Migrating from thelink.bio to Linkie

Publer’s current link in bio feature, thelink.bio, is moving to its standalone product, Linkie.

Linkie is a dedicated link in bio tool designed to give you more flexibility, better customization, and a smoother experience for managing your bio links.

All existing thelink.bio profiles will be migrated to Linkie. You can migrate your profile manually before the deadline, or wait for the automatic migration.

Important: If you do not migrate manually, all thelink.bio profiles will be automatically migrated to Linkie on September 14th, 2026.

What will happen to my thelink.bio profile?

Your existing thelink.bio profile will be moved to Linkie.

We will make sure that:

  • Your content is migrated safely.
  • Your links and cards are preserved where possible.
  • Your profile information is carried over.
  • No data is lost during the migration.
  • Your existing thelink.bio link will redirect to your new Linkie profile.

What will be migrated?

During the migration, the main parts of your thelink.bio profile will be moved to Linkie.

This includes:

  • Profile picture
  • Username
  • Bio
  • Website
  • Main button
  • Social links

Some card types or design options may be mapped to the closest available option in Linkie. If a specific card type is not available in the exact same format, we will match it with the most similar Linkie option.

To migrate your thelink.bio profile to Linkie manually:

  • Go to the Social Accounts tab.
  • Find the Instagram account where you have thelink.bio profile set up and click on it.
  • Click on Link in Bio to access your thelink.bio profile settings in Publer.

  • Click Migrate to Linkie from the migration banner.

  • A Linkie Migration window will open.
  • Review your new Linkie username.
  • Check the quick overview of benefits, such as the new UI, analytics, and custom domain support.
  • Check the box to confirm that you are aware this action cannot be reverted.

  • Click Continue.

If you already have content in Linkie, choose what should happen to it during the migration:

  • Override content: Replace your existing Linkie content with the content from thelink.bio.
  • Keep current content: Keep your current Linkie content as it is.

  • Check the box to confirm that you are aware this action cannot be reverted.
  • Click Confirm.

  • Once the migration is complete, you will see a confirmation message that your Linkie profile is now connected to the selected account.
  • Review your new Linkie profile.

After the migration, your Link in Bio tab will show the connected Linkie profile.

From there, you can:

  • View your new Linkie profile link.
  • Reconnect Linkie if Publer loses connection to it.
  • Automatically add new posts created in Publer to Linkie.
  • Deactivate the old thelink.bio redirect.
  • Disconnect Linkie from the selected social account.

Note: You cannot disconnect a migrated profile directly. To connect another profile, you need to remove the Link in Bio first.

  • If you want to remove the old Link in Bio setup, you can delete the username. This will permanently delete your Link in Bio information, including the website, tap on post tooltip, and additional links.

  • You can also use the Deactivate thelink.bio? option if you do not want to remove it right away.
  • When enabled, traffic from thelink.bio will be automatically redirected to your new Linkie profile. You can always change this later (until September 14th, 2026).

What if I do not migrate manually?

If you do not migrate manually, your thelink.bio profile will be migrated automatically on September 14th, 2026.

You do not need to take any action for the automatic migration. Your profile content will be moved to Linkie, and your thelink.bio link will redirect to your new Linkie profile.

However, we recommend migrating manually if you want to review everything before the migration happens.

What will happen to old thelink.bio links?

By the next quarter, all thelink.bio links will redirect to linkie.bio.

This means that people who visit your old thelink.bio link will be redirected to your new Linkie profile automatically.

If you have feedback, suggestions, or questions about the migration to Linkie, you can share them here.
