Growing up to 374.8 lbs (170 kg), this species is commonly found swimming in ice-free northern waters; it prefers to inhabit saltwater bays and estuaries, or even freshwater lakes and rivers. Its diet includes fish, cephalopods, and crustaceans. While the harbor seal is awkward on land and moves with a bouncing crawl, it’s a graceful swimmer in water. TCS Chief Human Resources Officer, Sudeep Kunnumal’s public acknowledgment of ‘involuntary attrition’ — which is, in reality, forced resignations — reveals not just a failure of ethics but a dangerous confidence that no authority will hold the company accountable. TCS has now crossed from corporate arrogance into open contempt for Indian labor law. As per the Industrial Disputes Act, proper procedures must be followed, including obtaining prior permission from the labor department for any retrenchments or layoffs. In this case, none of the procedures were followed by TCS management, making it a clear violation and an open challenge to the laws of the land. The Karnataka State IT/ITES Employees Union (KITU) has already filed an industrial dispute against TCS regarding illegal terminations and forced resignations. Conciliation proceedings between TCS management and KITU are taking place in the presence of Additional Labour Commissioner G. Manjunath. On behalf of the victimized employees, KITU has submitted evidence of forced resignations, including audio recordings of management pressuring employees to resign. The next conciliation meeting is scheduled for 15th October at Karmika Bhavana. KITU calls upon all IT sector employees to come forward in support of the victimized TCS employees.
