Why can't I see all my RSS Feed articles?

When you first connect an RSS Feed to Publer, our service provider automatically fetches the 10 most recent articles on average. Depending on your feed's specific settings, it may pull slightly more or fewer.

If your feed is only showing a couple of articles, or if new content isn't appearing, it usually comes down to the following issues:

Your feed settings are too restrictive: If your RSS feed is set to only output one or two articles at a time, our RSS Service might miss them. We recommend adjusting your website's RSS settings to output a higher number of recent articles (at least 10–20).
The articles are not actually new: Publer cannot sync or display articles unless they are completely unique. Specifically, each article must have a unique URL (link) or GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) that has never been used before. If two articles share similar or identical links/GUIDs, our system flags them as duplicates to prevent redundant posts, and they will not be synced.
Incorrect pubDate format in your feed: If the pubDate format in your RSS Feed is incorrect, Publer might not recognize the articles as new. An incorrect date format may cause Publer to interpret the article's publish date as "Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000," a default time for invalid dates (very old). This results in the articles not being picked up as new.

Note: Some RSS Feeds might not always show the correct thumbnail for their articles on Publer. In this case, you have to make sure that your site has the correct Meta Tags set up. Learn more about how you can tackle this problem here.

Syncing RSS Feeds

The RSS Feed will pick up all of your new articles and store them in Publer's library automatically, however, sometimes some of the new articles might not be synced yet. You can also pull them manually by hard syncing the feed.

The frequency at which articles from RSS Feeds are synced to Publer is managed entirely by our third-party RSS service provider, not by Publer itself. As a result, Publer does not directly control how often a feed is checked for new entries.

The RSS provider uses an adaptive polling system that automatically adjusts the sync frequency based on how active a feed is:

High-volume feeds: Websites that post multiple articles a day (like news sites) are checked frequently throughout the day.
Low-volume feeds: Websites that post less often (like weekly blogs) are checked less frequently to optimize server performance and prevent source server overloads.

For example, a blog that publishes one article per week may be checked once per day, while a news website that publishes many articles throughout the day may be checked as often as every 5 minutes.

Keep in mind that RSS Feed updates are not always instant. It may take some time for new articles to appear, even after you manually sync the feed.

To sync RSS Feeds:

Go to Explore tab on Publer.
Choose RSS Feeds
Select the RSS Feed you want to change the Settings for.

Once you've selected the RSS feed, click the edit settings icon to configure its settings, then select Sync Feed.

Finally, allow a few minutes for Publer to sync all the new articles.

If you also manually sync the Feed frequently, this will help Publer to automatically sync articles more frequently.
