How to tag business partners in Facebook posts

What is Branded Content on Facebook?

Branded content includes posts that feature paid partnerships between a creator and a business. These posts require proper disclosure using the Branded Content Tool.

With Publer, creators can now tag business partners on Facebook Pages, while staying compliant with Meta’s guidelines.

To tag business partners:

Open the Create composer and select the Facebook Page.
Select the Facebook Page(s) eligible for using the branded content tool (we automatically sync this info).

Keep in mind that if you're crossposting to multiple social networks, i.e., Facebook and Instagram, make sure to customize first to see all Facebook options.

Click the handshake icon at the top right of the composer to open the Branded Content Tool.

If the handshake icon doesn't show up after choosing the Facebook account on the left-side, ensure that your Facebook Page has access to this feature. To gain access to this feature follow the steps here.

Search and select the Facebook Page you want to tag as a business partner. You can search by Facebook Page name, username, or ID.

You can choose to Allow the business to boost the post.

Your business partner will be able to share your profile to their audience. Keep in mind that you will not be able to edit the post once it has been boosted.

Click on Save to save the tagged account. You can always click on the "X" icon on the right-side to remove the tag.
Preview the post and schedule it accordingly.

Keep in mind

The branded content tool works for most Facebook post types (Status Updates, Photos, normal Videos, Gifs, Links) except Facebook Reels and Stories. For Facebook Reels, you can use the Collaboration Tag instead.
If posting to multiple platforms (i.e Facebook and Instagram), you can use the customize option to view all Facebook settings.
If the tagging handshake icon doesn't show up after choosing the Facebook account on the left-side, ensure that your Facebook Page has access to this feature. Learn how to gain access to the tagging feature here.
After publishing the post, you cannot remove or change an existing business partner though Publer, due to API limitations from Facebook.
Branded content posts created outside Publer cannot be fully synced, and the tagged business partner will not carry over.
