How to upload videos to Publer from external URLs
Publer requires a direct link to a native video hosted on the internet. These links typically end in formats such as .mp4, .mov, or .webm. A native video is one that can be accessed directly in a web browser, not through a third-party player or embedded on a video-sharing platform.
Uploading videos to Publer from external URLs:
1. Copy the Video URL
- Locate the video you want to upload.
- Right-click on the video and select Copy video address.
- For YouTube : Click the three dots next to the video and select Share.

- Then click Copy to get the URL of the video.

2. Upload the Video in Publer
- Open Publer and go to the Create tab.
- Click Click or Drag & Drop media.

- Choose Publer's URL picker option.

- Paste the copied URL into the text composer, then click Save.

- Once the link is added, Publer will start fetching the video automatically. This may take a few seconds depending on the video size and source, so please keep the tab open until the video is fully loaded.
Note :
- If you right-click and don’t see the option Copy video address, it means the video is not native and cannot be processed by Publer.
- In this case, you can use our free tool to download your media.
- Learn more about how it works here.
- The video must be publicly accessible for the upload to work. Some platforms may restrict access to their content due to privacy settings or platform limitations, which can prevent the video from being fetched.
