[Keith Downie via SkySports.com] 🥇 Right this has been a dramatic hour, so incase you missed it here’s a round up… The two most reliable transfer journalists out there (Fabrizio and Ornstein) both said Liverpool approached Newcastle to find out about Isak’s availability, and said they’d go for Ekitike if Isak’s not available. Basically putting it out in the media they won’t let us have both (as they’re their top two striker targets). Now Sky and Luke Edwards have given similar updates that we won’t want to sell Isak and nothing has changed there from previous updates. Sky, as well as TNT (who I didn’t even know had sources), have also now said Liverpool haven’t actually made a formal approach, which is contrasting what Ornstein and Fabrizio said, but both have obviously been browsed that info by a reliable source. If this is accurate that our stance is Isak isn’t for sale and we still want to try to get Ekitike instead (even though it feels optimistic now), that’s fine I guess, but don’t be surprised if Liverpool join that race rapidly and match the terms we offer.
