What happens if I edit/delete a member?
Throughout the time you have members in your Workspace, you can change their roles as needed. For example, you can change a member from an Editor to an Admin or Client, and vice versa.
How changing a member's role and permissions affects the workflow
When the member has created posts that are still pending approval:
- You will NOT be able to change their role until all their pending posts have been approved.
- For example, if a member has posts in the Pending queue and you try to change their role to Admin or Client, the change will not go through. You will first need to approve their pending posts. Once there are no posts left in the Pending queue, you can change their role.
When the member has scheduled posts:
- You can change their role since these posts are already in the scheduling queue.
- The scheduled posts will not be affected because they have already been approved and finalized.
- Any future posts created by this member will follow the permissions and privileges of their new role.
When working with Grouped Posts:
- Members can only view, edit, approve, or decline posts for the social accounts they have access to.
- For example, if a Grouped Post contains seven social accounts but the member only has access to four of them, they will only be able to manage the posts for those four accounts.
- If other posts within the group still require approval, they will remain pending until a member with the necessary permissions approves them.
How removing a member affects the workflow
The following applies when:
- You unassign a member from a social account.
- You remove a member from a social account or from the Workspace.
- You update your Publer subscription by downgrading to fewer members.
In these cases, the member's posts will be affected as follows:
- Posts that are still pending approval will automatically be saved as Drafts.
- The posts will be assigned to the Workspace Owner so they are not lost or deleted.
- The analytics associated with the posts will also be saved and transferred accordingly.
How removing a member affects the RSS feed workflow
- If a member configures the RSS feed settings and is later removed from the Workspace, their scheduled posts will still be transferred to the Workspace Owner. However, the RSS feed settings they configured will not be preserved and will revert to their default, empty values.
- If an Admin or member who last configured the RSS feeds is later removed from the Workspace or loses access to the connected social accounts, the affected RSS feeds will also stop working as configured because they are linked to that user's access.
