Why are my social accounts locked?

If one or more of your social accounts are locked in Publer after upgrading to a paid plan, it usually means your subscription doesn't include enough social account slots to cover all the social accounts currently connected to your workspace.

Each connected social profile, page, or account uses one social account slot. For example, if you have 2 Instagram accounts and 1 Facebook Page connected, you'll need 3 social account slots to manage all of them.

Paid plans include a specific number of social account slots. If the number of connected social accounts exceeds the number of slots available in your subscription, some accounts will become locked until you have enough slots available.

Important note: The 3 free social accounts are only available on the Free plan. Once you upgrade to a paid plan, the Free plan allowance no longer applies, and all connected social accounts must be covered by the social account slots included in your paid subscription.

To unlock your accounts:

  • Check how many social accounts are currently connected to your workspace.

For example, if you currently have 3 connected social accounts but your paid plan only includes 1 social account slot, you'll need to upgrade your plan to include a total of 3 social account slots in order to keep all of your accounts active and unlocked.

  • Increase your social account slots so they match the total number of social accounts you want to manage.

When upgrading your plan, be sure to select the TOTAL number of social account slots you need, not just the number of additional accounts you want to add.

  • Complete the upgrade to save your changes.
  • Once your subscription includes enough slots, your locked social accounts should become available again automatically.

Note :

  • Upgrading to a paid plan does not automatically unlock all connected accounts. Your subscription must include enough social account slots for every account you want to manage. An account becomes locked when the total number of connected accounts exceeds the number of social account slots included in your subscription. To resolve this, increase your available slots or remove any unused accounts.
  • When upgrading, the pro-rated difference will be charged immediately. Meaning, you will only pay for the upgrade.
  • You can upgrade at any time. Whether you’re on a trial or an active subscription, you can upgrade your plan or increase your social account slots at any time by following our guide here.
  • If you'd rather not upgrade, you can remove a connected social account that you no longer need. This will free up a slot and allow another account to be unlocked. Please note that removing a social account permanently deletes its associated Publer data, including posts, drafts, media, and analytics. Make sure you no longer need this information before removing the account.
