How to use AutoSharing in Publer

DesktopStart

Instead of manually sharing an existent post from one social account to another, you can AutoShare it through Publer. This will automatically share the link of the published post, to the specified social accounts.

For example, if you create a YouTube video and toggle on the AutoShare feature for a social account (i.e. Facebook), then the link of this video will be automatically shared to Facebook, as specified.

You can use AutoSharing in a few ways with Publer:

1. When you are creating only 1 post for 1 social account:

  • Go to the Create tab.
  • Design your post as you like by adding images, links, GIFs, hashtags, locations, and more. Please note that supported features may vary across different social accounts.

For example, posts with only text won’t auto-share to Pinterest or Instagram, since both are visual platforms. You can, however, add an image and share it to these accounts right away.

  • Next, click the AutoShare icon below the post.

  • Specify on which social accounts you want the post to be shared.

NOTE: When AutoSharing to Google Business Profiles, you are required to add a caption or some text, otherwise the post won't be AutoShared.

  • After that, you can set conditions for when the post will be shared. Conditions can be based on Time (Is older than, previously 'Delay'), Reach, and Engagements.

  • You can configure posts to be automatically shared based on time or performance. Conditions can be combined so that either all must be met or only one is required.

EXAMPLE: You can set posts to be shared automatically only if they are at least a certain time old AND/OR if it has more or fewer engagements or reach than the number you define.

  • Under Is older than, specify when you want the post to be shared on the selected accounts.

  • You can also set conditions based on Engagements and/or Reach.

Example: You can set a post to be automatically shared if the post’s reach or engagement is less than or more than a specific value by selecting < or > and entering the number.

  • Once you’ve finished configuring the conditions, make sure to click Save.
  • You can also set a delay between shares and add captions to your shares.

  • Finally, make sure to save your changes by clicking Save.

2. When you are creating only 1 post for 2+ social accounts:

  • Go to the Create tab.
  • Select two or more social accounts.
  • Create your post, and click the AutoShare icon.

  • Choose where you want to share each post, selecting each social account individually.
  • Click each social account’s icon one by one and specify where the post should be shared.

  • Lastly, you can set conditions for when the post will be shared. Conditions can be based on Age (previously "Delay"), Reach, and Engagements.

3. When you are creating different posts for 2+ accounts:

  • When creating customized posts, simply follow the same steps as described in point 2.
  • For posts that have already been scheduled, navigate to Calendar > Scheduled, filter by the relevant social accounts, and make any necessary edits to the post.

4. Aside from manually selecting social accounts, you can also set default social accounts in the Post Presets settings, where posts will be automatically shared.

  • Go to Social Accounts.
  • Select the social account where you want to apply post presets.
  • Navigate to the Post Presets tab, and locate the Default auto-share setting.

  • Choose the social accounts where you want your posts to be auto-shared.

  • After that, you can set conditions for when the post will be shared.

  • Conditions can be based on Time (Is older than, previously 'Delay'), Reach, and Engagements.

  • Make sure to save your changes by clicking Save.
  • Lastly, you may proceed with scheduling your posts, and the configured social accounts will be applied automatically.

Remember:

  • AutoSharing will work regardless if you're posting right away or if you're scheduling at a specific time in the future.
  • If you are creating the same post for different social accounts at the same time, you can use the AutoShare tool, but you need to specify where each post has to be auto-shared individually.
  • The same thing as above happens when you are creating Customized posts, different posts, for each social account.
  • If you delete the original post, there won’t be a post to auto-share.
  • When AutoSharing to Google Business Profiles, you are required to add a caption or some text, otherwise the post won't be AutoShared.
  • You can't AutoShare posts that are published via push notifications, like Facebook Group posts.
  • Note: You can set conditions based on reach only, engagements only, or both, along with the duration you specify for automatic deletion.
