How to add a location

It is always a good idea to let the audience know where your brand is located. This way, it can grow faster and get real-time feedback. Here's how you can add locations to posts in Publer.
To add a location to your posts on Facebook Page and Instagram Business accounts:
- Click on the Create button.
- Select at least one Facebook Page or Instagram Business Account and start creating your post.
- Click on the Location icon.
- Type the desired location you want to add and make sure to select it.
- You can customize the location tag when posting to multiple Facebook Pages and Instagram Business Accounts.
- Make sure to click on Save.
How to find a location to tag by ID
Here's how you can work around this API limitation.
- Search for the location to tag in Facebook Places on desktop ( important)
- Go to the Location page and copy the ID from the URL
- Paste the Location ID from the URL in Publer
- Make sure to select the search result and click on save
To tag a location in your posts on Threads :
- Click on the Create button.
- Select at least one Threads account and start creating your post.
- Click on the Location icon.
- Type the name of the location you'd like to add, and select it once it appears in the suggestions.
- You can also customize the location tag when posting to multiple Threads accounts by ticking the checkbox to set a different location for each account.
- After specifying the location, remember to save your changes.
- You can also check the Live Preview section on the right to see if the location was added correctly.
Keep in mind:
- Location tagging is available for Facebook Pages, Instagram Business accounts, and Threads. The other social accounts don't support geo-location tagging due to API limitations.
- You cannot add a locations for Facebook regular videos, GIFs, stories, or reels scheduled via reminders
- Twitter/X has deprecated the ability to search for a location to tag. Previously scheduled posts with a location tag will be shared as usual, but you won't be able to edit or view the tagged location.

It is always a good idea to let the audience know where your brand is located. This way, it can grow fast sales and get real-time feedback. Publer provides a Location feature for your posts. Adding the location to the social networks' posts on Publer is the same, but their previews appear differently.
To add a location to your posts:
- Navigate to the Create page.
- Select at least one Facebook Page or Instagram Business Account and start creating your post.
- Click on the Location icon.
- Enter the desired location you want to add, select it, and click the Save button.
- You can also customize the location tag when posting to multiple Facebook Pages and Instagram Business Accounts
- Make sure to click on Save.
To tag a location in your posts on Threads :
- Click the Create or + button located at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Select at least one Threads account and start creating your post.
- Click on the Location icon.
- Type the name of the location you'd like to add, and select it once it appears in the suggestions.
- You can also customize the location tag when posting to multiple Threads accounts by ticking the checkbox to set a different location for each account.
- After specifying the location, remember to save your changes.
- You can also check the Live Preview of the post to confirm if the location was added correctly by clicking the eye icon on the Create page.
Keep in mind:
- Location tagging is available for Facebook Pages, Instagram Business accounts, and Threads. The other social accounts don't support geo-location tagging due to API limitations.
- If you are creating the same post for Facebook and Instagram and want to add locations to both of them, you will be given two separate options so that each social account will have its own location.
- If you want to Auto-Share a Facebook post to Instagram (or vice-versa), the location won’t be shared.
- Twitter/X no longer supports the ability to search for a location to tag. Therefore, only Facebook Pages, Instagram Business Accounts, and Threads will have the ability to tag locations.
