How to schedule Instagram Trial Reels

DesktopStart

Trial Reels allow you to test how a Reel performs before showing it to your full audience. Instagram first shares the Reel with a small group of non-followers. Based on how they interact with it, Instagram then decides whether to push it to a wider audience.

This helps you understand what type of content works best without affecting your main profile’s performance.

Instagram Trial Reels are currently available only to accounts with at least 1,000 followers. Accounts that do not meet this requirement cannot use the feature.

How to schedule Instagram Trial Reels:

  • Click the Create button.
  • Choose an Instagram account, upload a video, and select Reel.
  • From the available options, click Post as Trial Reel.

Keep in mind that when you enable Trial Reel, the Reel will not be posted to your feed.

  • Toggle on Post as Trial Reel.

  • Choose Approve manually on Instagram if you want to decide when the Reel is shared with your followers.

  • Or enable Automatically add to your profile if it performs well. If the Reel performs well, usually within 72 hours, it will automatically be shared with your audience.

  • After saving the settings, you can always edit them later if needed.

  • Finally, preview the Reel on the right side and schedule it as usual.
