Why does my subscription price differ based on the exchange rate when I subscribed?

If you notice that the price you are currently paying is different from the price shown on Billing for the same plan today, this is usually due to currency conversion.

Publer prices its plans in USD. When you subscribe using another currency, such as CAD, the USD price is converted using the exchange rate available at that time.

That converted price is then locked for your subscription.

For example:

  • Your locked subscription price: 17.73 CAD
  • Current price for the same plan: 16.68 CAD

The difference is caused by changes in the exchange rate between USD and your local currency (i.e CAD) since you originally subscribed.

Your existing subscription price is not recalculated every time exchange rates change. This means:

  • If the current converted price becomes lower, your locked price stays the same.
  • If the current converted price becomes higher, your locked price also stays the same.

So, your actual subscription price has not changed. The price shown today simply reflects the current exchange rate for new subscriptions.

Alternatively, you can cancel your current subscription wait until the subscription end date. After the end date, there is a 24-hour grace period before your account is downgraded to the Free plan.

Once your account is downgraded, you can subscribe again and lock in the current converted price.

Keep in mind that during this process, you will be downgraded to the Free plan again, so some social accounts may be locked, scheduled posts may be affected, and paid features will be limited until you subscribe again.
