How to schedule posts via reminders/push notifications

With Publer, you can prepare a post in advance and receive a reminder when it is time to publish. Open the reminder on your phone, finish your post in the social network's app, and publish it manually.

Choose Get a reminder when you want to:

Add music or trending sounds, such as audio for an Instagram Reel, Facebook Reel, TikTok videos/carousels or YouTube Short.
Add native features, such as Story links, stickers, or effects.
Publish photos and videos together when the combination is supported for reminders but not for automatic publishing.
Post to Facebook Groups or Personal Profiles, which support reminders only.

Install the Publer mobile app, sign in to your Publer account, and enable notifications. You will need the app even if you schedule from your computer. Also install the social network's app so you can complete the post.

To schedule a post with a reminder:

Click on Create.
Select the social account or accounts you want to publish to.
Prepare your caption and add any photos or videos.
Click on Automatic at the bottom of the composer.

In the How would you like to publish? window, open the Post automatically dropdown next to the account.
Select Get a reminder.

Repeat this for any other accounts you want to publish to manually. You can keep Post automatically selected for the remaining accounts.
To apply the same publishing method to all selected accounts, use the dropdown next to All accounts.
Click on Save.

Click on Schedule and complete the scheduling process.

Your post is now scheduled. For accounts using Get a reminder, the scheduled time is when you will be reminded to publish.

Saving the publishing method does not schedule the post. Complete the scheduling step to receive your reminder at the chosen date and time.

To publish the post when the reminder arrives:

Make sure you are signed in to the correct account in the social network's mobile app.
Tap the reminder on your phone, or open the relevant notification inside the Publer mobile app.
On the Post Reminder screen, review your post and the instructions.
Tap Open in Facebook, or the corresponding button for your social network.

Follow the prompts in the social network's app. If needed, select the downloaded media from your phone's photo library and paste your caption from the clipboard.
Add your music, stickers, or other final details.
Review the destination account and publish the post.

Opening the social network does not publish the post for you. You still need to complete the final publishing step in that app.

Tips & Info

Music and native features: Available sounds, stickers, links, and effects depend on the social network, account, region, and post type. Add these in the social network's app before publishing.

Instagram Story links: In Instagram's Story editor, open the sticker menu, select Link, and enter your URL. You can also customize the sticker text before sharing.

Story captions and media: A caption prepared in Publer is copied to your clipboard, but it will not automatically appear as text on your Story. Paste and position it in the Story editor. For supported Stories with multiple media files, you receive one reminder for the post. Select the saved media and check their order before sharing.

TikTok video reminders: Unlike the Publer reminder flow above, TikTok sends you a notification when your video is ready. Open the notification, or find it in your TikTok inbox, and follow the prompts to edit the video. Add sounds, effects, or other details, review your caption, and tap Post. TikTok may add #Publer to the caption, which you can remove before publishing. After you publish, it can take up to five minutes for the status in Publer to change from Posting in Progress to Posted.

Team reminders: When a member posts using the Owner's API credentials, the workspace owner receives the reminder. Check the member's posting credentials and make sure the person completing the post is signed in to the Publer mobile app.

Facebook accounts: Groups and Personal Profiles support reminders only. Facebook Pages can use automatic publishing for supported posts, or reminders when you need to finish the post in Facebook. Daily posting limits still apply to Facebook Groups.

Media and post options: Reminders do not remove media restrictions. The format and media combination must be supported by both Publer's reminder composer and the destination app. Options such as Location, Auto-Delete, and Auto-Share may be unavailable, depending on the network and post type.

After publishing: Analytics, post syncing, and editing or deleting published posts depend on the social network and account type. Facebook Groups and Personal Profiles do not support analytics or post syncing in Publer.

Not receiving reminders? Check that Publer notifications are enabled in your phone's settings, update the Publer app, and confirm who should receive the reminder if you work in a team. You can also check the notifications inside the Publer mobile app. For TikTok video reminders, check TikTok's notifications and inbox.

Publer cannot switch between accounts inside the social network's app. Always check the destination account before sharing your post.

Choose your scheduling option, set the date and time, and confirm.

Your post is now scheduled. When the scheduled time arrives, you will receive a reminder to finish publishing it.

To publish the post from your phone:

Make sure you are signed in to the correct account in the social network's app.
Tap the push notification from Publer when your post is ready.

Alternatively, open Notifications in the Publer mobile app and tap the relevant Share post on... notification.

On the Post Reminder screen, review your post and the instructions at the top. Publer explains that your text will be copied to the clipboard and any media will be downloaded to your phone.

Posting in progress... does not mean your post has already been published. You still need to finish sharing it in the social network's app.

Tap Open in Bluesky, or the corresponding button for your social network.

Review the post in the social network's app. If needed, paste your caption or select the downloaded media from your phone's photo library.
Add any final details supported by the app.
Check the destination account, then tap Post to publish. The example below shows this final step in Bluesky.

Publer cannot switch between accounts inside the social network's app. Always check the account before publishing.

The final steps and button names can differ depending on the social network, post type, and whether you use iOS or Android.
