Why can’t I schedule long posts on X/Twitter?
If you’re unable to schedule a long post on Twitter, it’s likely due to a few common reasons why this feature isn’t enabled for your account yet. Here’s a breakdown of what might be preventing this feature from showing up and how you can resolve it:
To schedule long posts (tweets with more than 280 characters), your X/Twitter account must be verified with a blue checkmark. This verification is granted to users subscribed to X Premium—Twitter’s premium service (formerly known as Twitter Blue).
Once you apply or subscribe, X/Twitter typically takes a few business days to review and activate the verification. Until then, certain features including composing or scheduling long-form content will remain unavailable.
If your account is verified, Publer will automatically detect when your post exceeds the regular character limit and will convert it into a long post accordingly. If your post remains within the limit, it will be treated as a standard tweet.
Sometimes, Publer may not immediately recognize your eligibility to schedule long tweets if your X/Twitter account information hasn’t been synced properly. This often happens if you recently subscribed to X Premium (formerly Twitter Blue) or just received your blue checkmark verification. Until Publer updates with the latest data from X/Twitter, it might still treat your account as a standard one.
To resolve this, simply sync your account information by following this guide.
The ability to write and schedule long tweets is an exclusive feature available only to users subscribed to X Premium. If you’re using a free or standard X/Twitter account, this feature won’t be accessible. This subscription unlocks additional functionalities like composing and scheduling longer posts.
If you don’t have this subscription, the option to schedule longer tweets won’t be available.
If you have 𝕏 Premium, even the Basic one, you can schedule and automatically publish long-form posts with up to 25,000 characters with Publer!
